Happy to be a member of the board and the editor of the first volume in the new series “International and Comparative Business Law and Public Policy” (University of Lausanne, BRILL)

The first volume of the new series, co-edited in particular by Professor Andreas Ziegler and lawyers specialising in mining law and international arbitration, will focus on the issues discussed at the first LL.M. International Business Law/CEDIDAC International Conference “Social License and Dispute Resolution in the Extractive Industries” to be held on 19 February 2021. The opening of the series took place on 16 September on the shores of Lake Geneva in the presence of some members of the editorial committee and the organisers of a future LL.M./CEDIDAC Conference planned in collaboration with the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Connection Science and the AI Transparency Institute.

The series aims to encourage and promote international cooperation among the professors of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration of the University of Lausanne and to offer an opportunity to doctoral students, particularly from Lausanne, to publish theses in English on topics related to the series’ theme. The publishing house, whose reputation in the field of international law is well established, said it was “impressed” by the project initiated by Dr. Shaheeza Lalani, in charge of the project at CEDIDAC and of the LL.M. Programme. In addition to the above-mentioned persons, the editorial board includes Professors Francesco Maiani, Vincent Martenet and Andreas R. Ziegler from the Eva Lein School of Law, as well as Professor Thomas Cottier from the World Trade Institute.
